Hi
I found that out now too. Without the plasma source, everything worked great. As soon as I connected the plasma source and enabled was started, the probe led came on immediately. The cause is that my plasma cutter has a pilot ignition. If I remove the cable for the pilot ignition on the plasma, it works without any problems. But unfortunately the plasma doesn't start anymore.
- Make sure that the ENABLE LED only lights while the unit is probing.
- You could have a ground loop. Use a multimeter to verify isolation between the plasma's ground and the negative of the logic or anything else in the wiring. There should only be continuity while the enable is active.
Has anyone ran into back feed issues though there plasma units? I have the PTS-1 if I probe without my plasma unit connected it probes and dry runs fine as soon as I hook up my plasma ground it back feeds through the unit and false probes and air fires.
