According to the manual, a 12/24v power supply is used for the proximity switches. Th e video on the C11G does not use an external power supply and the manual also shows a resistor being used (not in the video). Just a little confused.

To use voltages above +5vdc you use a limiting resistor, as the C11G can only take +5vdc signals.
It is described in the manual.
