I am trying to build a CNC plasma. I keep working on it a little at a time. I started this build when I started grad school. Now that I'm finished with school I should be able to make more progress. I'm using Mach3 and the C10 - BI-Directional Parallel Port CNC Breakout Board , geckco 320x, nema 23 servo motors, but still messsing with...and would love the opportunity to clean my mess! Good Luck to everyone!

Me and my buddy bought a bridgeport that we would like to convert to CNC. I'm looking for ball screws that are affordable and decently well priced. If this doesn't work out I'm just going to build a small mill from scratch.

Im currently in the process of converting a LMS 5500 that I got used off of craigslist. Ive gotten everything torn down, cleaned, and repainted. I used a 2 part epoxy paint the should hold up well to coolant. I decided to fill the holes in the casting that were not going to be used using JB weld metal putty then sanded which turned out very well. I have no desire to turn this back into a manaul mill by the way. Ive also redesigned the assembly that carrys the gear for the spindle. This will remove the quill functionality making it rigid so i dont have to be concerned about the spindle pushing down when using pnumatic drawbar. I have motor and ballscrew mounts designed as well, im just waiting for things so slow down at work so I can thrown them in an open machine. For the spindle motor Im using a DMM dyn4 that will have a 2 to 1 belt ratio which will give me around 6000 rpm without losing too much torque on the high end. I havent purchased axis motors yet but im looking to stepper servos/ hybrid steppers as they are cost effective and fairly accurate. Unfortunately things have been moving a little slower up to this point but im hopeful that Ill have a running machine sometime this summer.

Hi, my name is Bruce Wurst. I have been working on a CBC mill built from scratch for a little over a year now. I am making YouTube videos about it. I have 1 downloaded here and about another 60 hours on the computer that needs to be edited. the saddle and x axis is just as rigid as the rest. Using a 12" x 16" x 1-1/4 play steel. I will laminate 2 1-1/2" wide rails to ride the the linear rails on. They will b welded to the saddle plate with 1/2" x 4" bar stock to give me the x distance tha I need The whole set-up will run on nema 34 servo motors with hopefully the 2 boards you are giving away. I do have all the pieces I need except the motors and the electronics. I am learning a ton from this project as I go along. Myself, I am a music teacher here in the Phoenix Az area so this is a real change from what I'm used to. I have made some CNc routers so I know what I need to complete this project. You can c the 1st part of my YouTube video under Bruce wurst. I should be posting more videos soon of the process I'm going through making this cnc mill. The video was my first one. They should get a lot better than that one but it is a start. I have tons of plans to do on YouTube for videos I will eventually get around to adding a arc to it but the 1st part is the mill so I can make the parts for the atc. here are some pictures of what I have done so far; https://ibb.co/mFFsKJx

Hello! At this point I am gathering a list of parts for a CNC table. A controller like is would be a lot of help.

It appears there is a problem in the forum and many are having issues uploading images and videos. While we fix this, there are two workarounds:
I am sorry for the inconvenience.
